Tax Sale 2019 will be held online at www.BidBaltimore.com on Monday, May 13, 2019.

The Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing includes liens on properties with delinquent real estate taxes, water bills, and other municipal liens. In addition to appearing on the City's tax certificate sale web site, BidBaltimore.com, the listing will be printed in the Wednesday, March 13, 2019 edition of The Baltimore Sun, and again on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in a publication to be announced.


IMPORTANT NOTICE

Friday, February 1, 2019: Final Bill and Legal Notices (FBLNs) will be mailed.

Thursday, February 28, 2019: Last day to pay FBLN amount.

Wednesday, March 13, 2019:  First Printing of Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing will be published in the Baltimore edition of The Baltimore Sun and listed on BidBaltimore.com. Bidder registration begins and this is the first day bids can be entered.

Starting on or about March 13, 2019: The Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing posted on the City's website at BidBaltimore.com will be updated bi-weekly through April 2019, and then weekly until  May 13, 2019. The updated listing will reflect payment of the liens and the removal of those liens from Tax Sale 2019, as well as any additional interest or penalty or partial payments applied to the liens.

Wednesday, March 27, 2019: Second Printing of Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing will appear in a publication to be announced.

Monday, April 8, 2019: April letter will be mailed informing owners of Tax Sale 2019.

Tuesday, April 30, 2019: Deadline for walk-in payments, on-line payments, and mailed payments to reach the City of Baltimore. Final day to have liens on properties to be offered at Tax Sale 2019 removed from Tax Sale 2019.

Friday, May 3, 2019, 5:00 PM EDT: Deadline to register as a bidder for the May 13 Tax Sale and May 16 Assignment Sale. To ensure authenticity, the same bank account must be used by bidders to register and to purchase certificates. The bank account number must be the same for bidder registration payments and certificate purchases, with no exceptions.

Friday, May 10, 2019: Final update to the Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing posted on the City's auction web site at BidBaltimore.com. Bidders should note the Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing will include a notation indicating the final update has taken place.

Friday, May 10, 2019: Bid submission period begins on BidBaltimore.com following the final update to the Tax Sale 2019 Properties Listing.

Monday, May 13, 2019: Acceptance of bids for Tax Sale 2019 begins. Eight batches of liens on properties will be offered for bidding throughout the day. Batches are scheduled to close each hour, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Local Time. Acceptance of bids for the final batch ends at 4:00 p.m. No additional batches will be offered and no additional bids will be accepted after 4:00 p.m. Local Time.

Monday, May 13, 2019: Tax Sale 2019 Books will be available. Tax Sale 2019 Books may be purchased at the Cashier's Section of the Municipal Office Building, 200 Holliday Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 at a fee of $10.00 per book.

Thursday, May 16, 2019 Assignment Sale - liens for properties not purchased at Tax Sale 2019 on May 13, 2019, may be purchased at lien value as of this date at BidBaltimore.com.

Thursday, May 23, 2019: First day to redeem tax lien certificates for properties included in Tax Sale 2019.

PERSONAL AND BUSINESS CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR TAX SALE PAYMENTS AFTER THE MAILING OF THE FINAL BILL AND LEGAL NOTICE ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 1, 2019. PERSONAL AND BUSINESS CHECKS FOR TAX SALE PAYMENTS WILL BE RETURNED BY MAIL TO THE PROPERTY OWNER AND THE LIENS ON THE PROPERTY WILL REMAIN SUBJECT TO THE TAX SALE.

Service hours will be extended in advance of Tax Sale 2018. The Tax Sale Office will open for business at 7:30 a.m. and remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019, Friday, April 26, 2019, Monday, April 29, 2019, and Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Due to the large number of taxpayers expected at that time, walk-in customers may experience, and should be prepared, for lengthy delays of approximately two (2) hours or more.

ONLY ONE BIDDER NUMBER WILL BE ISSUED TO ANY INDIVIDUAL OR BUSINESS ENTITY. If you are interested in participating as a bidder at Tax Sale 2019, you must complete the following steps:
  1. If you have not previously obtained an ID and password for the web site for Tax Sale 2019, click Register and complete the required information on BidBaltimore.com. No mail-in or e-mail registrations will be accepted.
  2. Accept the terms of the User Agreement.
  3. Submit an IRS Form W-9 in the name of the person or legal entity to whom the Tax Sale Certificate should be issued.
  4. Pay $100.00 registration fee via ACH Debit.  The registration fee is non-refundable and will not be subtracted from the amount owed for Liens. The same bank account number shall be used for registration fee and certificates purchased.
  5. Enter Attorney contact information (optional).
  6. Submit a budget to cover the costs of your anticipated purchases.
  7. Each bidder must provide and keep current a valid e-mail address as part of the Registrant Info submitted on BidBaltimore.com.
