Assignment Sale 2020

The City of Baltimore Assignment Sale will be conducted on It will consist of one batch and will open at 8:00 am and close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Any bidders who wish to submit bids in the Assignment Sale must first take the following steps in the 2020 Tax Sale (which ends on July 20), also on
  • Register on the web site
  • Complete an IRS Form W-9
  • Pay a $100 registration fee
Please note that the last day to pay the Registration Fee is Friday, July 10.  No bidders will be able to participate in the 2020 Tax Sale or Assignment Sale if the Registration Fee has not been paid by this date.

Bidders who completed the W-9, paid the $100.00 registration fee, and received a bidder number assignment for the July 20 sale will be able to use the same to participate in the Assignment Sale.

All certificates will be sold at the Lien Value. The bid amount will be pre-filled and unchangeable. Bidders will be able to review each certificate in the sale prior to the close of the batch. Property and tax roll information will be accessible by clicking on the account number.

Once bidders have determined which certificates they would like to purchase, they should click the "Submit" button to the right of each applicable certificate, thus entering their bids at each certificate's Lien Value.

If more than one bidder submits a bid for a certificate, the certificate will be awarded using a random number generator.

An ACH debit for payment for certificates awarded will be submitted following the close of the Assignment Sale against the same bank account that was used to submit the Registration Fee.
